Cleopatra Battle King 65 mm
Description
HAND-PAINTED CHESS MEN. KING 65 mm. Cleopatra "End of an Empire".
In 51 BC, Cleopatra ascended the throne at the age of 18; according to her will, she was obliged to marry her brother Ptolemy XIV and share the throne with him.
As the last ruler of the Ptolemaic dynasty, her throne was challenged by Rome.
The Romans Julius Caesar, Mark Antony, and Octavian Augustus tied their destinies to Egypt.
Cleopatra seduced Julius Caesar, and together they developed the idea of a universal monarchy, born from the union of Rome and Egypt. When Caesar was assassinated in 44 BC, Cleopatra won the favor of Mark Antony, managing to maintain Egypt's independence. Faced with this betrayal, Octavian attacked Egypt and defeated Mark Antony at the Battle of Actium, thus driving him to suicide. Cleopatra, rather than humiliate herself before Octavian, committed suicide by being bitten by an asp.
The models are made of Oxo Teak, a special composite with characteristics similar to ivory in appearance, weight, and texture. The material's ductility allows the engravers to create artifacts of extraordinary realism, which are naturally enhanced by the hand-painted work of art masters using catalytic paints.
