Korchnoi's 400 Best Games - 2nd hand
Viktor Korchnoi, Robert G Wade, L S Blackstock
Description
Viktor Korchnoi is widely regarded as the most fierce, fighting chess player of the post-war era. He has selected 400 of his best and most interesting games, many with his own notes, from a playing career that began in 1946 and has spanned almost 30 years. He gained the international grandmaster title in 1956, won the U.S.S.R. championships on four occasions (1960, 1962, 1965, 1970) and four times, too, competed as a world championship candidate (1962, 1968, 1971, 1974). In 1976 he defected from the Soviet Union — to become the official challenger for Anatoly Karpov's world title in 1978.
