Bernhard Kagan, heir to a large publishing house, the Kagan Verlag, indulged his passion for chess. He initially published a chess magazine called Kagan's Schach Nachtrichten but later, when the big international tournaments started, Kagan wrote beautiful books about them. This is a reprint from the British Chess Magazine of the Karlsbad Tournament, 1923.
Tournament that remained in history for the high level of play. Many games received awards for their beauty.
